Permissible Arms

Swollen like the river

Posted in united states by Karaka on 5 May 2010

This bums me out so much. (From the Big Picture.)

Some friends of mine live in East Nashville, in the shadow of Riverfront Park; my sister used to live in West Nashville. Everyone’s okay, including my parents and grandparents who were mostly affected by the tornadoes in southern middle Tennessee, but man, this whole thing sucks. It looks as though state and federal services have been getting things under control, though there’s still large swathes of the city and the Cumberland Valley under water.

Nashvillest has compiled ways for folks to help out, if you can. Donations of goods, volunteering opportunities, and monetary donations are all needed and welcome.
